Nneka founded Open Pixel in 2024 to use her knowledge of web development in assisting organizations build digital solutions and understand their web presence.
Her career journey encompasses over 20 years of website development and project management experience and a passion for technology. Nneka’s foundational role as a Verizon COBOL engineer allowed her to gain a good understanding of software development and process management. She also worked for organizations specializing in political advocacy and fundraising, which allowed her to understand the important of technology and digitization. She also spent years working in Digital Marketing and Digital Brand Management agencies, gaining invaluable insights into the ever-evolving landscape of online promotion and brand representation.
She is deeply committed to advancing the use of Drupal and open-source technologies within the government sector by dedicating her free time to Drupal4Gov, a volunteer-run nonprofit organization. She serves as Co-Lead for Drupal GovCon, playing a pivotal role in shaping the conference’s success. She also moderates the monthly webinars that are held every 3rd Thursday @ 3pm (EST), and serves as a Board Member, contributing to the strategic direction and growth of the organization.
Nneka holds an M.S. in Management Information Systems from Bowie State University and a B.S. in Business Administration from Howard University, along with a Solutions Architect-Associate certification from Amazon Web Services.
